Program Description

Camp Director
Gary Hoyt

Coach Hoyt is the varsity softball coach at Lyman Memorial High School. In the three years he has been there, the team has posted records of 9-12 in 2005 and 19-2 in 2006 and 19-7 in 2007 for an overall record of 47-21. The 2005 team made the school’s first appearance in the CIAC state tournament in 4 years. The 2006 season saw the team win both the Charter Oak Conference regular season and playoff championships. These championships were the first softball championships in the history of the school.  In 2007 the team began play in the Eastern Ct Conference, small school division.  The tougher competition the team encountered in their new league served them well as they won the CIAC Class S State Championship by defeating two-time state champion Coginchaug 3-2 in a 10-inning championship game.  Hoyt was honored following the 2007 season by being named the high school softball Coach of the Year by both the Norwich Bulletin and the New London Day.
